Summer Haircare Tips for Healthy Hair
We all know chlorine can turn your hair green, and I feel like everyone is starting to get on board with the fact that ingredients sunscreen can turn your blonde hair yellow/pink. Never heard of that one? Yeah it just happened to me while I was in Vegas for a hair show of all things.
Summer is hard on your hair and it’s even harder on your extensions. Sun exposure, chlorine, salt water, and heat styling can all contribute to dryness, fading, and breakage.
Protect Your Colour
UV exposure can fade colour faster than you think. Use UV-protective products and wear hats whenever possible.
Wet Hair Before Swimming
This tip is actually a game changer.
Your hair acts like a sponge. Saturate it with clean water first to help minimize chlorine and saltwater absorption.
Increase Your Moisture Routine
Everyone thinks winter means more hydration but summer is DEFINITELY the season to use masks, leave-ins, and oils more frequently.
Lower the Heat
If you're already exposing your hair to summer heat, try reducing your styling temperatures when possible. Stretch out wash days with braided styles, slick back styles & hat days.
Book Regular Trims
Removing damaged ends prevents splitting and keeps hair looking healthy all season long.
Remember, Healthy summer hair starts with prevention, not repair.
